Still not solved? Need to Contact Us? Unlike a more traditional brushless motor, the Direct Drives rotor surrounds the stator rather than being attached to it. This motor is a pole DC direct-drive motor. There are 12 magnets permanently attached to the rotor. Each magnet is opposite 3 poles of the stator at any given time.

A Hall Effect sensor is mounted on the stator. It counts the poles of the magnets as the rotor turns to feedback the information to the controller. The motor controller can determine the direction and speed of rotation by adjusting the polarity and amplitude of the power applied to the stator.

The Hall Effect sensor is easily removed and replaced. Youll have to remove the rotor and stator to access the sensor. The rotor is splined and fits snugly on the drums shaft. When replacing the rotor, you will probably need a helper to hold the drum in place while you push the rotor onto the shaft. Otherwise, the drum may move forward far enough to make it difficult to replace the bolt. The helper can also keep the drum from turning while you torque the bolt.

Before going to this trouble, check the connector on the main board. It is the 3-pin red connector nearest the heat sink. This connector has the red wire in the middle instead of on one end. You can separate this connector to determine that the board is receiving signals from the Hall Effect sensor. Remove the back cover. Remove the large bolt 17 mm from the center of the rotor. Pull the rotor off the shaft. You may have to wiggle it off. The shaft is splined. When replacing it, you may need a helper to keep the drum from being pushed forward so the bolt will reach and can be tightened.

Remove the two screws from the tub bracket. Remove the six bolts on the stator. Remove the two electrical connectors on the stator. The dampers 3 support the tub at the bottom; it is supported by two springs at the top and by the gasket on the front.

Use special tool EERA. See photo, pages 47 and Hold in the locking tab so the pin will slide out. Remove the damper hinge pins. A special tool is available for this. Replace the damper with a new part. Do not reuse a damper that has been disassembled. Removing the tub requires that you first remove the control panel and the front panel. The front panel can be removed without removing the door. See previous pages for this procedure. When the front has been removed, it is easy to remove the tub.

Remove the counterweights first to make this job easier. Regardless, most of this procedure will require a helper. Set the weights aside where they will not fall and break or cause injury. The weights balance the motor when removing the tub. If you remove them, the tub will be back-heavy. Six screws. Remember to drain the water if you havent already done it. Remove the large bolt securing the rotor. This is much easier if there is an assistant available to hold the drum still on the inside while loosening the bolt.

Extreme torque is not required when replacing the bolt; instead use a drop of Loctite. Use extreme caution! This part holds the motors permanent magnets. Disconnect the electrical connections and grounding screw. Remove the 6 bolts that hold the windings in place. Disconnect the small hose that attaches to the water level sensor.

Disconnect the dryer duct hose. Disconnect the drain hose on the back of the pump. Disconnect the recirculating hose at the top of the door gasket. Disconnect the air vent hose. Be especially careful of the ball check valve. It must be replaced correctly to function properly. Disconnect the vacuum break. Remove the clamp where the dryer duct connects to the gasket. Separate the gasket and duct for when the tub comes out. This will allow the dryer assembly to remain in place when the tub comes out.

Remove the three dampers that support the tub. Separated dampers must be replaced. Press in the tab on the small end and use the pliers to push the pin out.

It is easiest to remove the bottom pin first. I ordered and received this unit. I am confused- there is no mention of it being anything other than a 'washing unit'. I was under the impression that it is a combo unit. If that is correct- is there a manual for the 'drying portion' or is it automatic on each cycle that it will dry as well? Just wanting to learn the basics on a new machine. Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? Is your question not listed? LG Electronics Inc. If moisture stillremains, 10 minutes will be added tothe drying time, but the time in thedisplay will remain on 11 minutes andonly continue to count down when it isthe actual time remaining.

The standard laundry weight whichshows how much laundry to put into thewasher. Whenselecting drying only, drying course will startafter 15min spining. The spin operation canbe bypassed in a Dry only mode if it is notrequired by continually pressing the spinbutton until "no spin" appears. Drying times can vary greatly depending ondampness, room temperature and type offabric and your own experience will be yourbest guide. Itemsshould not be loaded in a tangled condition,as this will lengthen the drying time.

Woolen Articles- Do not tumble dry woolen articles. Pull themto their original shape, and Air dry them on aflat surface. Permanent Press and Synthetics- Do not overload your dryer. Rubber and Plastics- Do not dry any items made from orcontaining rubber or plastics, such as:a aprons, bibs, chair coversb curtains and tableclothsFiberglass- Do not dry fiberglass articles in your dryer. Glass particles left in the dryer could bepicked up by your clothes the next time youuse the dryer and irritate your skin.

NOTEPowdered detergent is recommended as it will not dispense prematurely during delaywashes or remain under the drawer. Overfilling can cause early dispensing of thefabric softener which could stain clothes.

For best results, avoid oversudsing. Doing so may lead to blockages, poor rinse performance or bad odor. Calgon can be used to cut down on the use ofdetergent in extremely hard water areas.

Dispense according to the amount specified onthe packaging. First add detergent and then thewater softener. Open the door and put tablets into the drum. Load the laundry into the drum and close thedoor. It is therefore a good idea to clean it from time to time. Turn off the water tap.

Unscrew the water inlet hose. Clean the filter using a hard bristle brush. Tighten up the inlet hose. Check regularly that the filter is clean to ensure smooth running of your machine. Be careful when draining if the water is hot. Open the lower cover cap. Pull out the hose. Unplug the drain plug first to remove anyremaining water. Open the filter cap by turning to the left.

Remove any extraneous matter from the pumpfilter. After cleaning, carefully refit the cap by slowlyturning it clockwise and insert the drain plug. Close the lower cover cap. If water leaks from the cover after refitting thefilter cap. Repeat steps 1 and 2 and Refit thefilter cap as it may be cross threaded. Pull out the dispenser drawer. Clean the dispenser drawer under water. Clean inside the recess with an old toothbrush.

Insert the dispenser drawer. Over time the build up of scale clogs appliances, and if it is not kept incheck these may have to be replaced. Wipe with damp cloth. Close the door. Not all of the RV antifreeze will be expelled. Do not add wash load. When the machine does not function properly or does not function at all, check thefollowing points before you contact your service provider.

OversudsingWater does not enterwasher or it entersslowlyWater in the washerdoes not drain ordrains slowly. This is usuallynormal. Stop washer, check drum and drainfilter. If noise continues after washeris restarted, call your authorisedservice centre.

If sound continues, washer isprobably out of balance. Stop andredistribute wash load. If not removed duringinstallation, refer to Installation guidefor removing transit bolts. Wash load may be unevenlydistributed in drum. Stop washer andrearrange wash load. Check and tighten hose connections. Unclog drain pipe. Contact plumberif necessary. Too much detergent or unsuitabledetergent may cause excessivefoaming which may result in waterleaks. Check another tap in the house.

Fully open tap. Straighten hose.
